Leeds fans react to Raphinha’s display against Everton

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to laud Raphinha’s display as the Whites were beaten 2-1 by Everton on Wednesday.

Leeds were denied the chance to win three games in a row. Two defensive lapses of concentration saw the Toffees take a 2-0 lead into half-time.

But Marcelo Bielsa’s side were outstanding after the break. And they gave themselves a lifeline with Raphinha finding the bottom corner three minutes into the second-half.

And in truth, there was arguably no Leeds player who deserved a goal more. The 24-year-old was sensational throughout the contest.

His energy was frightening. And there always appeared to be a sense that something could happen when he got onto the ball or made a run when out of possession.

His partnership with Luke Ayling down Leeds’ right flank is blossoming into something incredibly special. And, while the result was a disappointing one, many Leeds fans were left raving about Raphinha on social media.

Several cannot quite understand how the Whites were able to sign the winger in the summer. And they are certainly baffled that he cost an initial £17 million (fee reported by BBC Sport).

If he continues to perform at his current level, it may not be too long before Leeds are offered the chance to make a huge profit on the Brazilian.
