Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly decided against giving his squad any extra time off over the next few weeks while fixtures are suspended – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have backed the decision of the manager.

According to the Daily Mail, the 64-year-old will not allow extra rest to his squad despite the fact all fixtures have been postponed until the beginning of April at the earliest due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The report claims that some of the club’s players and also medical staff have been left shocked at the decision from the Argentine manager to press ahead with scheduled training.

It is understood that some teams have given their players up to 10 days off, with England’s top four divisions currently at a halt.

Bielsa is renowned for the hard works he puts in behind closed doors to help mould his team and it’s clear that his style of play is now firmly printed on his team at Elland Road.

They sit top of the Championship table as it stands with nine league games left to play and supporters will have their fingers crossed that action can resume in April to finish the season.

It seems odd that the Leeds group won’t get extra time off to rest during an extended break, but hardly a major surprise when it comes to Bielsa.
