Leif Davis has signed a new contract with Leeds United – and some of the club’s supporters are delighted with the news.
The Whites confirmed on their official website on Monday evening that the defender has penned a new three-and-a-half year deal.
He is new under contract at Elland Road until 2023 and becomes the latest star to commit their future to the Yorkshire club in recent months.
Davis only moved to Leeds in 2018 from Morecambe and has managed to force his way into the good books of senior manager Marcelo Bielsa.
The 19-year-old has had a taste of first-team football so far and played nine senior games across all competitions since he joined.
He is an attack-minded left-back with great pace, but has also shown he’s got the versatility to fill in at centre-back.
A selection of Leeds supporters on social media are predicting that Davis will have a big future ahead of him and are thrilled to see him sign a contract.
The teenager now needs to be focused on trying to break into the XI on a more consistent basis as he’s played just four times this season, but the club clearly have faith in him and he’s a useful option for Bielsa.
Here are some Leeds fans on Davis signing a new deal:
After years of seeing our best young talent leave for peanuts it’s great to see this club move in the right direction and tie down these players. 👏
