Kiko Casilla continued in goal for the draw against Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon – and many Leeds United fans on Twitter were fairly pleased with his performance.

The Whites recorded a 1-1 away draw at the Riverside, as they temporarily moved back to the top of the Championship table.

Boro scored the opener early into the second-half, as Lewis Wing found himself in plenty of space and tucked a finish into the bottom corner.

But Kalvin Phillips headed in a dramatic equaliser in the 101st minute of the game after 12 minutes of stoppage time were awarded.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team have now picked up seven points from their last seven league games and are still enduring a difficult run of form despite a late equaliser.

A selection of Leeds fans discussed the contribution of Casilla on social media and feel he made a positive impact.

Casilla, 32, joined in January from Real Madrid on a free transfer and has now made three appearances since joining the Yorkshire giants.

He’s yet to keep a clean sheet in the first team, but hasn’t been helped by an out-of-form defence and he’s also adjusting to regular football after sitting in reserve at Madrid.

The Spaniard could do very little about Wing’s goal, but made a number of smart stops throughout the contest to keep his side in the game and an area for improvement could be in gathering crosses.
