Jay-Roy Grot played for the Netherlands Under-20s side on Friday – and many Leeds United fans on Twitter reacted to the performance of their loanee.
The attacker provided an assist on the international stage, as his team recorded a 3-2 victory over Mexico.
Grot is a forgotten figure at Elland Road after he was shipped out on loan at the beginning of the season.
The 21-year-old has linked up with Dutch top-flight club VVV-Venlo for the campaign, where he’s enjoyed a decent amount of first-team action.
He is a colossus centre-forward with great strength and a turn of pace, but also has the versatility to play in wide areas too.
Grot has made 27 senior appearances this season for Eredivisie outfit VVV-Venlo, scoring three goals and supplying one assist in return.

A selection of Leeds fans on social media were delighted to hear of the striker’s contribution for the Dutch at youth level and still believe he could have a future at Elland Road.
Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa has shown a desire to promote youth within his team and it will be intriguing to see if he’s done enough to feature next year, when the club will hope to be in the Premier League.
Here are some of the Leeds fans on Twitter that were praising Grot:
