Pontus Jansson has said he felt like he was perhaps the main man at Leeds United before the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa last summer.
As quoted by Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post, Jansson said: “If we do it, everyone will be legends – especially Marcelo.
“He’s the main man, he changed the club. When I came here maybe I saw myself as the main man but not anymore. I’m just one of the players.”
Jansson was not voted club captain last summer when the players democratically decided on Liam Cooper to lead them instead – and some fans on Twitter think that those outspoken comments perhaps shed some light on why.

Jansson has never been backwards in coming forward – he still talks like a fan in many cases – but these comments have created an interesting reaction among the fanbase.
All that really matters is that he has knuckled down under Bielsa and that he is fully committed to getting Leeds into the top flight – but it sheds an interesting light on how he viewed his own status.
