Leeds fans react to Barry Douglas being ruled out for the season

Leeds United defender Barry Douglas won’t play against this season – and many of the club’s supporters can’t believe their bad luck this season.

The Whites have had numerous injury problems throughout the campaign, but that hasn’t stopped them in their promotion bid and they currently sit second in the Championship.

Leeds have confirmed (official website) that Douglas picked up a serious knee injury that has ruled him out for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.

The 29-year-old is expected to be out of action for between two to three months with his setback.

Douglas moved to Elland Road last summer from Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he had helped them win promotion from the Championship last season.

The left-back has made 27 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s team and has spells in and out of the XI.

He came off the bench against Millwall at the weekend and despite picking up an injury, managed to provide a vital assist with a pin-point cross into the penalty area.

Leeds are fortunate to have Ezgjan Alioski in such great form at full-back right now and he may have to continue during the absence of Douglas in the remaining seven league fixtures.

Here are some of the Leeds fans reacting to the Douglas update:
