A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to react to the referee’s decision to not send Scott McTominay off during the Whites’ defeat to Manchester United.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men more than played their part in a stunning fixture at Elland Road. It initially appeared that it was game over during the first-half as the visitors took a 2-0 lead.

However, Leeds fought back in some style. Rodrigo found the top corner with what appeared to be an attempted cross from wide. And moments later, Raphinha slid in to level the scores.
Unfortunately for Leeds, it was Ralf Rangnick’s side who got the deciding goals, scoring twice more to secure the points.

It was an amazing occasion enhanced by the awful conditions. And in truth, it did appear that referee Paul Tierney did have an excellent game.
He let a lot of robust challenges go. And he tried his best to let the contest flow. However, there was one crucial decision that many Leeds fans slammed the referee for.
McTominay was booked during the second-half. Shortly after however, he gave away a foul, running into Junior Firpo. Understandably, Leeds were adamant that a second yellow should be shown.
However, the only caution from that incident was shown to Raphinha. The Brazilian lost his cool and had to be pulled away by some of his teammates.
McTominay had already fouled Robin Koch in the first-half. The clash ultimately resulted in Koch being taken off for Leeds as he was left with a nasty cut around his eye.
‘I don’t understand’: Leeds fans baffled by McTominay decision
In fact, no player committed more fouls than the Scotland international, according to Whoscored. And that left plenty of Leeds fans feeling cheated that McTominay was not sent off.
Here is how some of the Leeds fans reacted to the decision to not show the midfielder a red card…
