Leeds fans react on Twitter to Ryan Edmondson injury
A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that the club confirmed on their official website concerning Ryan Edmondson.
It has been a difficult season for Edmondson. He could have arguably done little more while playing for the under-23s to stake a claim for a first-team chance.
However, the 18-year-old has not made an appearance for Marcelo Bielsa’s side since 2018. He did score 18 goals for Carlos Corberan’s men last season, and he has been in excellent form again this term.
With Patrick Bamford going five games without a goal around the time Leeds lost Eddie Nketiah in January, some fans were imploring Bielsa to give Edmondson some kind of chance.
However, no opportunity came the teenager’s way. And he has now suffered a further setback.
Leeds have confirmed on their official website that Edmondson is set to miss the next 12 weeks after undergoing knee surgery.
The striker reportedly sustained the injury in training. And it now appears that he will miss the large majority of the remaining months of the season.
And there have been plenty of supporters taking to social media to express their sympathy for Edmondson.
They believe that he has been unfairly overlooked this season given that he has proved that he can find the back of the net.
And while some are clearly worried that he is not going to get a chance at Leeds while Bielsa is in charge anyway, many are disappointed that his first-team hopes have potentially suffered another setback.
Here is how some of the supporters reacted to the news concerning Edmondson…
