A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Telegraph this week claiming that the club are planning to offer Kalvin Phillips a new contract.
Phillips has been pivotal in taking Marcelo Bielsa’s side to the brink of securing a second consecutive season back in the Premier League.

He has been outstanding on a number of occasions. But his importance to the Whites side is perhaps best highlighted when he has been unavailable.
So it is no surprise that Leeds are apparently looking to reward the 25-year-old for his superb year.

According to The Telegraph, the Whites want to hand Phillips a new contract. His current terms – which were signed in 2019 – are set to run until 2024 (via club’s official website).
And it will not come as a shock to hear that plenty of Leeds fans have been left delighted by the latest reports.
Phillips seems to have elevated his game every year under Bielsa. He is now an England international who looks to have a fantastic chance of being involved at Euro 2020 this summer.
‘He should be the highest earner’
It is an exciting move from Leeds. They are under little pressure to extend his terms, with three years left to run on his current deal. So it seems to be a real statement of intent to ensure that he is set to stay for longer.
