Leeds fans react on Twitter to Raphinha’s display

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Raphinha’s performance as the Whites beat Newcastle 2-1 at St James’ Park on Tuesday.

Leeds went into the game off the back of three straight defeats in all competitions. But they would have still been optimistic with the Magpies on an even poorer run.

It was the Brazilian who gave Leeds the lead during the first-half. The winger produced a superb finish from the edge of the box after a lay-off from Rodrigo.

Leeds controlled the majority of the first-half. But the home side were much more on top after the break. And they got their reward with Miguel Almiron scoring an equaliser.

But Raphinha, once again, came to Leeds’ rescue. The winger cut inside and found Jack Harrison with a brilliant ball. Harrison curled an excellent finish into the far corner to put Leeds back in front.

It was a nervy win for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. But the 24-year-old was a class act throughout the evening.

He almost had another goal or assist himself with his ball to Tyler Roberts almost finding its way into the net before Karl Darlow produced an outstanding save.

Raphinha was regularly able to drive Leeds up the pitch with his runs on both flanks. And many fans felt that he was the standout performer in what was a hugely important win.
