A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Raphinha’s display as the Whites took on Arsenal at the Emirates.

It threatened to be an incredibly miserable day for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. They went into half-time 3-0 down. And any hopes of a dramatic comeback seemed to be largely extinguished moments after the break when the home side got their fourth.

But there was a glimmer of light for Leeds just before the hour-mark. It was Raphinha’s corner that found Pascal Struijk. The youngster made up for his missed chances on Monday with an excellent header.

In truth, if Leeds were going to get anything from the game, it looked likely to come from the Brazilian.

He forced Bernd Leno into a good save after the interval with a long-range effort. And he did create some much-needed excitement during a flat first-half display from Bielsa’s men.

It was his sumptuous ball into the build-up for Leeds’s second which found Tyler Roberts. The Wales international then slid the ball into Helder Costa who scored.

Unfortunately for Leeds, it was not enough. Nevertheless, plenty of Whites supporters were keen to praise the 24-year-old – who earns £28,000-a-week, according to Tuttomercatoweb – on social media during and after the game.

He now has five assists in the Premier League since his arrival in the summer. And he appears to be cementing himself as a real talisman for Leeds.

Here is what some of the Leeds fans made of Raphinha’s performance against the Gunners…
