A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter after Marcelo Bielsa confirmed, as reported on the club’s official Twitter account, that Barry Douglas has picked up an injury in his side and will miss this weekend’s game.
Douglas has struggled to hold down a place in the team, particularly since the start of this season. Injury restricted him to 27 league appearances during the previous campaign.
The Scot has featured just eight times since the end of August this time around. That has partially been down to some of Gjanni Alioski’s performances at left-back. But injury has also been a factor.
And ahead of Saturday’s clash with Queens Park Rangers, Bielsa confirmed that Leeds will not be able to call upon the 30-year-old at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
Here is Bielsa’s injury update that included a word on Douglas…

The news that Douglas is once again sidelined has not gone down at all well amongst the Leeds fans on social media.
‘Waste of money’
It has been a frustrating spell for Douglas since his £3 million move from Wolves (fee reported by Sky Sports). He was one of the best full-backs in the Championship during his year at Molineux. But he has not managed to replicate that form for the Whites.
And following this latest setback, some fans have expressed their anger. They are extremely disappointed to hear Douglas is injured once again.
Some have suggested that it is time to cut the club’s losses and move the defender on. They clearly have their concerns about whether he can be relied upon.
Here is how some of the Leeds fans reacted to the news concerning Douglas…
Douglas is always bloody injured. Absolute waste of money.
