Leeds fans react on Twitter to Luke Ayling’s display vs Hull

A number of Leeds United supporters have taken to Twitter to heap praise upon Luke Ayling after the right-back produced a brilliant display against Hull City.

An own goal and a late strike from Gjanni Alioski have sent Leeds back to the top of the Championship. Marcelo Bielsa’s side did come under some second-half pressure. But the defence answered most of the questions asked, and Kiko Casilla was there when Hull did come close.

The Tigers came away from Elland Road with three points last season. And that was largely down to the performances of Kamil Grosicki and Jarrod Bowen out wide.

The pair started again on Tuesday. But it seems fair to say that neither was able to make much of an impression on the game. And that was mainly down to the performances of Stuart Dallas on the left and Ayling on the right.

Ayling, in particular, seemed to really impress the supporters. Not only was he solid defensively, but he was also able to contribute further up the pitch.

The right-back made some superb runs that looked set to create openings for the home side.

And the fans on social media have insisted that Ayling was a real contender for the man of the match award. They have lauded the way that he has played in recent weeks and felt that his latest performance may have been his best of the campaign so far.
