A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Luke Ayling’s performance during the Whites’ 1-1 Boxing Day draw with Preston North End.
Leeds needed a deflected strike from Stuart Dallas late on to secure a point against Alex Neil’s side. The Whites were far from their best, and looked destined for a long time to come away from the game with nothing.
Preston were excellent for much of the contest. But Leeds did not help themselves with some extremely poor defending.
And it appears that many of the fans have deemed Ayling’s performance to have been one of the biggest problems for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Ayling made a mistake early on that gifted the visitors a fantastic opportunity. And he did not seem to improve much as the clash went on. Some fans have suggested that he was the poorest performer in a Leeds shirt.
And some of the supporters have implored Bielsa to leave Ayling out of the team when Leeds face Birmingham on Sunday.
Dallas was outstanding at right-back during the early part of the campaign. And some have suggested that moving the Northern Irishman back into the defence with Ayling dropping out of the team for the time-being could be a smart move.
