Leeds fans react on Twitter to Liam Cooper’s display
A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Liam Cooper’s display as the Whites beat Southampton 3-0 at Elland Road on Tuesday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were able to welcome Diego Llorente back for the clash against the Saints. The Spaniard slotted in alongside Cooper and Pascal Struijk at the heart of the backline.

Leeds did secure the three points thanks to second-half goals from Patrick Bamford, Stuart Dallas and Raphinha. But the winner only came after the visitors had asked plenty of questions of the home side before the break.
But Cooper’s performance seemed to be one of the key reasons why Leeds were able to secure the three points.

As shown by Whoscored.com, no player completed more tackles than the Scotland international.
Meanwhile, he also led the way for clearances. It was the kind of colossal performance that Leeds needed against an initially improved Southampton side.
Cooper has arguably been one of Leeds’s best players in recent weeks. The 29-year-old has really stepped up against the likes of Wolves, and Crystal Palace before that.
Plenty of fans have taken to social media to laud Cooper’s performance, with many feeling that he was a standout performer in an important win for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
With that in mind, here is what a number of the supporters made of Cooper’s display…
Cooper had some off games yeah but on his day he’s unbelievable, and I’d say 6 in his last 10 he’s been very very good.

Quick word on Cooper, who amongst quite a bit of cynicism and criticism that Pascal Struijk could oust him from the team long term, he’s been unreal the last few games. Losing the ‘League One Liam’ tag, rapidly. #lufc
