A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Liam Cooper’s performance as the Whites were beaten 3-1 by Chelsea on Saturday.
It proved to be another eventful occasion for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. They went 1-0 up inside four minutes. And then they had to take Cooper’s centre-back partner Robin Koch off five minutes later due to injury.

Ultimately, Chelsea came back and secured the win. But it seemed to be a night in which Cooper showcased his potential at the highest level.
There were moments for concern. He managed to lose possession when under little pressure at the start of the second-half. And Leeds’s defending of set-pieces all evening was very poor.

But plenty of supporters felt that the captain was one of the Whites’ standout performers.
As shown by Whoscored.com, he made 72 successful passes – nine more than anyone else. He also won three aerial duels and three successful tackles.
He managed four interceptions. No other Leeds player made more than one. And he also topped the visitors’ charts for clearances.
In the first-half, he seemed particularly impressive when he had to bail Gjanni Alioski out when the left-back broke forward or made an error.
Cooper – who cost just £600,000 (via Derbyshire Times) – did come in for some criticism on social media. And you could understand why Leeds may not be too happy with their display.
But many still felt that the Scotland international produced one of his best displays yet since Leeds’s promotion to the Premier League.
Here is how some of the Whites fans reacted to Cooper’s performance…
