A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Kalvin Phillips after the Whites’ clash with Liverpool on Sunday.
The fixture at Elland Road was overshadowed by a horrific injury to Harvey Elliott. Pascal Struijk – who was dismissed – looked visibly upset after the incident having clearly made no attempt to injure the Reds youngster.

But the Reds did manage to take the three points as they took advantage of some sloppy defending amongst the Leeds United backline.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side did have their moments. And the player seemingly at the heart of everything they did well was Phillips.
The 25-year-old played some stunning passes, particularly out to Raphinha and Jack Harrison. And he was brilliant in the battle with Liverpool’s attacking midfield players.

He seemed to read the game exceptionally well at times – even if there were occasions when he could have done better.
Phillips appears to be going from strength to strength right now. He has been outstanding for club and country for some time.
‘Immense’: Leeds fans laud Kalvin Phillips after clash with Liverpool
And while it was another hugely frustrating day for Leeds at Elland Road – with their wait for their first league win of the campaign still going – Phillips came in for a lot of plaudits on social media during and after the game.
With that in mind, here is what some of the fans were saying about Phillips as Leeds faced Liverpool…
Kalvin playing a lone hand in the middle.

Kalvin Phillips has been sensational today. Looks a cut above the rest of our team.

Kalvin Phillips is the only player in reasonable form. The next few games will give a better picture of our form.
FWIW I don’t believe Strijk’s tackle was a red card. Hope the injury to Elliot isn’t as bad as it looked.#lufc #LEELIV— Peter Smith (@Redpeter99) September 12, 2021
Haha Kalvin Phillips is so good #LUFC
