A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun claiming that the Whites have identified Julen Lopetegui as a potential target when the time comes to consider Marcelo Bielsa’s successor.
The Whites continue to make significant progress under the Argentinian. Following their 1-0 victory over Everton on Saturday, they sit just outside the top-half in the Premier League.

Perhaps wisely however, it would appear that Leeds have given some thought to who they may want to approach when Bielsa’s tenure comes to an end.
According to The Sun, Andrea Radrizzani is a fan on Lopetegui. And it is suggested that he could be a top target at some stage in the future. It is noted that his Sevilla contract expires in 2022.

Lopetegui has done a fantastic job at Sevilla. However, the reports have not gone down well amongst some of the Leeds fans on social media.
Understandably, many do not want to give any thought to the prospect of Bielsa’s departure. It does feel that the Leeds boss has not taken the team as far as he can yet. And they hope that he is around for some time.

Meanwhile, other names have also been put forward. And it is clear that some fans want someone with links to Bielsa to succeed him.
Lopetegui’s countryman Carlos Corberan is mentioned on a couple of occasions. And Mauricio Pochettino is also suggested as a candidate. There is also a shout for Chris Wilder.
Here is how some of the fans have responded to the reports…
