Leeds fans react on Twitter to Helder Costa’s display

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to laud Helder Costa’s display during the Whites’ incredible 5-4 victory over Birmingham City on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are back on top of the Championship, but only after a ridiculous nine-goal thriller at St Andrew’s. Leeds led 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 before the Blues made the score 4-4 in stoppage-time.

But the visitors then found the back of the net one more time to secure the three points. Luke Ayling’s cross was turned in by Wes Harding for an own goal.

It was a remarkable game that saw some moments of brilliance in the final third. And one of the first came from Costa, who broke the deadlock in the early stages.

The summer signing was played in after a stunning run from Jack Harrison. Costa’s first touch was superb and created an opening just inside the box. And the Portuguese took full advantage to find the bottom corner for his third goal in his last seven games.

Costa may not have a direct hand in another goal. But the 25-year-old was involved throughout the game and seemed to cause plenty of problems for Pep Clotet’s men.

It has taken Costa a while, but it appears that he is finally up to speed at Elland Road. The forward was somewhat underwhelming during his first couple of months.

But since forcing his way into the starting lineup, the wide-man has stepped through several gears. And Leeds fans are now seeing exactly why Bielsa was so keen to sign him in the summer.

He is proving that he is a game-changer. And Leeds fans have heaped praise upon him after his latest performance at the weekend.
