A number of Leeds United fans on Twitter seem to be extremely concerned about the club’s decision to commit to signing Helder Costa permanently next summer after his latest display for the Whites on Saturday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are back in the automatic-promotion spots in the Championship. But they needed a Kalvin Phillips goal during the second-half to see off Birmingham City at Elland Road.

Supporters would have been forgiven for fearing that it would be another frustrating afternoon for Leeds. They did not test Lee Camp too often before the decisive goal, and the visitors did threaten to spoil the centenary celebrations on a few occasions.
Costa did not have a bad day. There were glimpses of his quality, particularly during the first-half. The Portuguese had a brilliant chance blocked after Patrick Bamford had been played in. He had also almost found Bamford with a cut back that was intercepted.

But the 25-year-old has now made 12 league appearances for Leeds. He is yet to score a Championship goal, and has provided just one assist.
Those numbers are, admittedly, slightly misleading. He has started just four times. And there have been performances like the one against West Brom where Costa has been outstanding.
But with the Daily Mail reporting that Leeds will spend £15 million on Costa next summer, the fans are expecting a lot more.
The fans on social media clearly fear that the club have overpaid. There is optimism that Costa can step up significantly in the coming months, but there is concern that he is yet to make a game-changing impact.
Here is what some of the supporters were saying after Costa’s latest display…
