A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to laud Cody Drameh’s display, as well as his season as a whole, following the Whites’ win in the final under-23 game of the campaign.
Mark Jackson’s men have been outstanding this term. So it was fitting that they rounded off the year with an amazing 5-2 victory over fellow promotion-chasers Burnley at Thorp Arch.
The Whites were able to get their hands on the league trophy after the game. And it would be no surprise to see the celebrations provide images that are looked back upon in years to come with a number of those involved surely destined for a future in the first-team.
One of those who is certainly on Marcelo Bielsa’s radar is Drameh. The right-back was included in the first-team squad for the first time at the weekend.
And he celebrated that reward with another fine display for the under-23s on Monday. The right-back got his first goal for Leeds with the opener during the first-half.
It was a superb finish from the 19-year-old. And he went on to produce an amazing defensive display, both at right-back and at centre-back as Leeds got another win.
His performance prompted many supporters to insist that it cannot be long until Drameh gets his chance to make his senior debut.
Of course, he faces a huge challenge getting into the side. Luke Ayling has been a revelation this season. And Leeds are no longer lacking depth in the middle.
‘My player of the season’
But the fans are confident that Drameh is that good that he could make an impact for the first-team if handed an opportunity.
Many lauded his goal and his display on Monday, but there were also others insisting that he is their player of the season for Jackson’s side…
