Leeds fans react on Twitter to Archie Gray display

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Archie Gray after the 15-year-old’s display in the Premier League Cup win over Mansfield Town on Monday night.

Mark Jackson’s men have their first victory in the competition this season. They beat the Stags 2-1 in York. Sean McGurk and Max Dean got the goals during the second-half for the Whites.

The result was all the more impressive with Leeds missing a number of their brightest prospects due to international duty.

Jackson used a number of players more frequently seen with the under-18s. And one of those who was involved was Gray.

It has been known for a little while that Gray looks to be one of the most exciting prospects in the next crop coming through.

And despite being the youngest Leeds player on the pitch, Gray did not look out of place at all in the hard-fought win.

He was brave on the ball, not afraid to run at opponents or get stuck in. And he nearly had a goal late on when he burst through as Leeds looked for a third. Unfortunately, his attempt was saved by the goalkeeper.

Plenty of Leeds fans have suggested that Gray was the star of the show. Unsurprisingly, many are incredibly excited about what the future holds for the player looking to become the third generation of his family to represent the Whites.
