Leeds fans react on Twitter to Archie Gray display in U21 defeat

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Archie Gray after the 15-year-old produced a superb display in their opening game in the Papa John’s Trophy on Tuesday night.

Gray – who was born one day after Rob Hulse and Eddie Lewis scored in a 2-2 draw with Norwich – was named in Mark Jackson’s starting lineup for the clash with Tranmere.

Unfortunately, it proved to be a tough night for the Whites. They were beaten 4-1 at Prenton Park.

But the goal they did score saw Gray show just how much potential he has as he found Amari Miller with a superb through ball after working his way out of trouble.

In the process, he broke the record for being the competition’s youngest ever assist-provider.

And understandably, plenty of Leeds fans have lauded Gray on social media.

Many feel that they have a very special talent on their hands. Of course, Leeds have a number of huge prospects knocking on the door at Elland Road.

It was a big statement for Jackson to include him in the side. But the hopes are extremely high.

Clearly, Leeds will be doing their best to keep the starlet grounded as his stock continues to rise.

Having said that, Gray looks to have additional reason to be positive about his prospects. The midfielder is related to Eddie Gray, is the grandson of Frank and son of Andy Gray.
