Leeds fans react on Twitter as Whites confirm Sam Greenwood signing

Leeds United’s under-23 ranks continue to go from strength to strength this summer, with the club confirming on their official website that they have landed Sam Greenwood from Arsenal.

Greenwood joins the likes of Joe Gelhardt and Cody Drameh in moving to Elland Road during this window. The club have announced that the youngster has penned a three-year deal with the Whites.

It looks to be an incredibly exciting time to move to Thorp Arch. Leeds’s academy recently secured Category One status, and their recruitment has captured the imagination since promotion.

Understandably, plenty of Leeds fans seem to be delighted about the news concerning Greenwood’s arrival.

He boasts a hugely impressive record at youth level. And he is capable of playing in a number of different roles across the forward line. Last season alone, he played on both wings for the Gunners’ youngsters although he predominantly featured down the middle.

And several supporters have suggested that it looks to be a real coup to land the teenager this summer.

They are optimistic that it may not be too long before he is pushing himself onto Marcelo Bielsa’s radar. And with Gelhardt now also in the ranks, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the forward line Leeds may be putting together.
