Leeds fans react on Twitter as Mateusz Bogusz scores against Crystal Palace

Leeds United were pegged back on two occasions at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace’s reserve side as the two sides fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw – and Leeds fans have once again raved about Matuesz Bogusz.

The 17-year-old joined Leeds in the January window from Polish side Ruch Churzow and has impressed in Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 outfit since, scoring goals and creating more for the likes of Ryan Edmondson.

In what was a meaningless league match, Leeds took the lead twice thanks to goals from Bogusz and Edmondson in the Professional Development League clash. But Palace equalised twice.

Edmondson slammed home an effort in the third minute, after a loose ball bobbled into his path. Bogusz scored a sublime second as he ran the length of the second half before finishing coolly, one on one.

Bogusz is yet to feature in the first team for the Whites, despite his excellent form for the club’s second string. With four Championship matches to play, it is unlikely that Marcelo Bielsa will call him up with promotion on the line.

But Leeds fans reacted to his performance with many drooling over their Polish prodigy, while some suggested a first-team chance is in the offing for the Poland Under-20 international.
