A number of Leeds United have taken to Twitter to express a concern about Pablo Hernandez’s future after Marcelo Bielsa confirmed, in comments reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, that he has sustained a hamstring injury.
Hernandez has not played for the Whites’ first-team since September’s draw with Derby County. He did look to be closing in on a return however, as he featured for the under-23s on Friday.

Unfortunately, it appears that the Spaniard has been dealt another injury blow. He missed the weekend win over Birmingham City, and Bielsa has now suggested that he will not play on Tuesday, or against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
“Pablo we think is not going to be able to play this week. It’s a different injury. The last injury was in the calf and now it is behind the knee in the hamstring,” he said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The news has understandably disappointed a lot of Leeds fans on social media. Hernandez has been the club’s talisman for much of his time at Elland Road.
But at 34, some fear that age is catching up with the playmaker. Hernandez was sensational last season – surely enjoying the best campaign of his spell with the Whites – and the worry is that his body will not allow him to repeat that magic this term.
It should be noted that Hernandez missed almost two months of last season before the end of October. He returned and went on to score a further nine goals by the campaign’s conclusion.
But it is clear that the fans are extremely pessimistic about the chances of Hernandez repeating the trick this time around.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to Bielsa’s comments on Hernandez…
