Leeds fans react as Whites set to agree Ben White loan extension

Leeds United are reportedly set to agree a deal with Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion to extend Ben White’s loan spell at Elland Road until the end of the 2019-20 campaign – and Leeds fans are ecstatic on Twitter.

The current health crisis has seen loan players all over the country question whether they will see out the remainder of the campaign with their current sides. Most loan deals are arranged until June 30.

But with the Premier League returning on June 17 and Championship three days later, clubs need to agree an extension in order to keep their loan stars. White is one of a number of loanees at Elland Road.

Along with the impressive Brighton star, Leeds may have to agree extensions with Manchester City for Jack Harrison, Lorient for Illan Meslier and Monaco for Jean-Kevin Augustin. Helder Costa is due to sign permanently.

The Telegraph have claimed that Leeds are close to an agreement with Brighton in order to keep White for another two months, which should see the defender remain at Elland Road until the end of the extended season.

Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that White is set to stay at least for the remaining nine Championship fixtures, having played every minute of the previous 37. Many are hoping he stays for even longer.
