Leeds fans react as Tyler Roberts impresses for Wales

Tyler Roberts managed 71 minutes of Wales’ narrow 1-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground – and Leeds United fans have reacted to his display on Twitter.

Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn scored the only goal of the game in the 92nd minute. A floated cross to the back post was chested over the line by the Liverpool wonderkid, who scored his first ever Liverpool goal against Leeds.

Wearing the number nine shirt, Roberts started the match up front for Ryan Giggs’ side before being replaced by Rabbi Matondo. It was his fifth cap for Wales, since making his debut in the 4-1 win over Ireland.

Roberts – who joined Leeds in January 2018 from West Brom for £4million (Daily Mail) – is one of the first names on Marcelo Bielsa’s team sheet at the moment. He has started the last six league games, and played 24 times in total.

In that time, Roberts has scored three goals and created four more. He will have been gutted to see his second-half effort strike the post in the bitterly disappointing loss to Sheffield United prior to the international break.

Leeds fans watched on as Roberts swapped white for red, and many applauded the ex-Walsall loanee for his efforts up front. One fan claimed he was the “most dangerous player on the pitch”.
