Marcelo Bielsa told reporters in his pre-Brentford press conference on Monday – as per Leeds Live – that Tyler Roberts will miss Tuesday’s clash at Griffin Park due to a calf knock, and Leeds fans are frustrated on Twitter.
Roberts, 21, has been left out of 15 of Leeds’ 31 Championship fixtures through injury, managing just 12 league outings and remaining an unused substitute four times. He has suffered with muscle problems, and knocks, throughout.
The Wales international had only been back in the 18-man squad for three games before picking up a knock during his substitute appearance against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. He had replaced Pablo Hernandes just before the hour mark.
Asked about any new injury news ahead of Tuesday night’s crucial promotion encounter against Pontus Jansson’s Brentford, Bielsa confirmed that £4million signing (Mail) Roberts had taken a knock to the calf and would miss the trip to London.

“He is not going to play. He took a strong kick. It’s incredible with this kick he continued in the match. He proved he is really engaged with the team and was brave to continue playing. Kick in the calf. There is no injury, just a big kick,” Bielsa said.
Injuries are beginning to overshadow Roberts’ time at Elland Road, which has now already past the two-year mark. In that time, he has only managed 43 appearances. He even injured his ankle in training, immediately after joining.
Leeds fans are clearly getting fed up at the striker’s injury curse and many have reacted in a frustrated manner on Twitter to the news that he will miss the Brentford clash. One fan even Tweeted: “just get rid this summer”.
