Leeds United have confirmed on their official website that young striker Oliver Sarkic has completed a permanent move to League One outfit Burton Albion.

Sarkic is formerly of Benfica, but failed to make the grade at Elland Road and spent last season out on loan at Barakaldo CF.

He has now moved on and will hope for regular gametime under Nigel Clough and move towards making good on his potential.

Sarkic was never going to form part of Leeds’ first team plans for next season but many fans took to Twitter frustrated that another player was sold at a time when no major incomings look likely.

The club look like they’re shedding young players to balance the books but the supporters feel they aren’t really seeing the benefit in terms of incomings.

That has led to a more angry reaction than might be expected in response to the loss of a young player as some supporters begin to get twitchy ahead of the new season.

Many of them want to see new recruits at the back and between the sticks and are also slightly concerned why players who could have had an impact in the future are now being sold…
