Northern Ireland came close to producing a historical win against the Netherlands on Thursday night before the class of Ronald Koeman’s side shone through – and Leeds United fans reacted on Twitter to Stuart Dallas’ display.
Going into the match, Michael O’Neill’s side were tasked with getting a result against the Netherlands and giving themselves a chance of qualification for next summer’s European Championships. However, they eventually suffered a 3-1 defeat.
A superb rearguard display kept the likes of Memphis Depay, Ryan Babel and Gini Wijnaldum at bay, before Leeds ace Dallas turned ex-Manchester United star Daley Blind inside out before supplying a wonderful cross for Josh Magennis to score.

Dallas, who joined Leeds in the summer of 2015 from Brentford for £1.3million (Sky Sports), beat Blind to stand a chipped cross to the back post, giving Magennis the easiest of chances to nod past Jasper Cillessen.
But Lyon star Depay replied instantly, scoring in the 80th minute and the 94th minute – either side of striker Luuk de Jong netting after coming off the bench. Dallas lasted the entire 90 minutes in Rotterdam.
Leeds fans reacted on Twitter to Dallas’ performance, with many applauding their star for his excellent assist. The versatile star has been in stunning form for Marcelo Bielsa’s men this season, and it seems to be repeating itself on international duty.
