Ronaldo Vieira has posted on social media a picture of himself in action after returning to Sampdoria pre-season training earlier this week – and Leeds United fans have reacted on Twitter.
Vieira, 20, joined Sampdoria after breaking into the Leeds side under Garry Monk and clocking up 71 appearances in two seasons – despite being a teenager. It saw him even break into the England Under-21 set-up, with three caps.
Now a fully-fledged England Under-21 international, Vieira completed a £6.2million (Guardian) move to Serie A side Sampdoria last summer. He managed 15 appearances for the top-tier side, as he continues his progression.
Vieira may have wanted a few more appearances under his belt last season but he remains an important player for the Italian side, with his development only expected to grow in his second term at the Italian club.
Leeds have made four first-team signings this summer, bringing in Jack Clarke back from Tottenham, Jack Harrison again, young defender Ben White from Brighton, and marquee signing Helder Costa from Wolves.
Now, some Leeds fans want Vieira to become their fifth signing this summer by urging him to come back, as supporters replied to their former midfielder’s post on Instagram – which was also uploaded on Twitter.
