Leeds fans react as report claims Diego Llorente available to face Chelsea

Diego Llorente is yet to make his debut for Leeds United but that could change on Saturday evening when the Whites face Frank Lampard’s Chelsea, amid reports the defender is now available for selection – and Leeds fans have responded on Twitter.

Llorente, 27, joined Leeds in the summer from Real Sociedad for a fee of £18million and appeared immediately on the bench during a 1-1 draw with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. However, he then suffered a groin injury while on duty with Spain.

The former Real Madrid defender has since been sidelined, failing to make his Leeds debut. However, a report from his home country – renowned newspaper Mundo Deportivo – states that Llorente is now back from injury and available for selection.

A video uploaded by Leeds last week showed Llorente in training on Friday – as per LeedsUnited.News’ Twitter account – but it  proved too early to take part in the 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday evening at Goodison Park.

However, Leeds will be looking to keep a third consecutive clean sheet against Lampard’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening and Llorente could be considered for selection – though it is much more likely he will be on the bench.

Leeds supporters reacted on Twitter to the reports that Llorente is now fit and available for selection. Many are excited at the prospect of seeing Llorente in a Leeds shirt – while many others are confident he will have to wait for a start.

Some even discussed if the £22,000-a-week (Spotrac) defender could face Chelsea.
