Birmingham City have confirmed on their official Twitter account that Pep Clotet will step down as head coach of the Championship side at the end of the season – and Leeds United supporters have responded.
The Midlands side have announced that Clotet – who had a contract until June 2021 – will continue to take charge until the conclusion of the current campaign, meaning he will be in the dugout for the nine remaining fixtures.
After spells in the lower leagues of Spain, Sweden and Norway, Clotet’s first big break came as Garry Monk’s assistant manager at Swansea City. He followed Monk to Leeds United for the 2016-17 campaign.
? Pep Clotet is to leave his position as Head Coach at the season's end.
He has decided to step down and the Club has agreed to allow him to explore other coaching opportunities.
Pep will depart with our gratitude and very best wishes.

Many Leeds fans are of the opinion that Clotet was the brains behind the Leeds operation that saw the Whites push for a place in the Championship play-offs – only to finish just outside of the top six.
Clotet went to Oxford United for a spell as manager of the League One club, but only lasted half a season. He rejoined Monk at Birmingham, and took over as boss when Monk departed for Sheffield Wednesday.
But after just one season, Clotet is set to explore other managerial opportunities. Leeds fans responded to the news on Twitter, with many suggesting he should return to Elland Road to work under Marcelo Bielsa.
I'd absolutely love Pep Clotet on the coaching team at Leeds under Bielsa
