Leeds fans react as Patrick Bamford makes behind-the-scenes Marcelo Bielsa claim
Patrick Bamford has spoken about Marcelo Bielsa’s behaviour in the Leeds United changing room after the Whites either win or lose – prompting plenty of reaction from Leeds supporters on Twitter, with many in awe of their Argentine manager.
Bielsa has become a Leeds legend in the three years he has been at Elland Road. Joining in 2018, he has taken a mid-table Leeds side to the middle of the Premier League. Having won their last two games, Leeds sit on 42 points from 30 games.
Fans have fallen in love with their manager and they will do so even more after hearing what Bielsa does in the Leeds changing room after a win or a loss. Bamford told the official Leeds podcast that when Leeds lose, he pats everyone’s head.

“If we lose a game, or sometimes if we draw but definitely if we lose – there will be a chat in the changing room after. It isn’t a long chat, probably five minutes. A very small debrief. He’ll walk up and down and pat everyone on the head,” Bamford said.
“If we win, even if we don’t play well, he will be buzzing. He will high-five everyone, come over to people that are sat down and shake their hand, thanks all the physios and thank everybody and be really happy that we’ve won.”
Bamford is one of a number of players to have enormously benefitted from the arrival of Bielsa – scoring 14 goals in 30 Premier League games this season and even spoken about for a potential England call-up. He has also laid on six assists.
Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to Bamford’s comments about Bielsa in the Leeds changing room – and many have re-confirmed their love for the Leeds boss. One fan said “he can literally never leave us, ever”.
These players would give anything for Bielsa I reckon. He’s “adopted” every single one with nought a bad thing to say about them regardless. Class above any other coach out there. You may have talent but without guidance, you’re just an ornament. #mot

How can Alan Pardew sign an eight-year deal at Newcastle, yet we have to go on knowing that this beautiful human being could be gone the season after next every year? 😖 #lufc https://t.co/FA0T4O5B38
