Ollie Watkins continued his excellent form for Brentford on Monday night as The Bees earned the west London bragging rights with a 3-1 win at QPR – and Leeds United fans want the attacker signed after he scored a brace.
Watkins, 23, has been in stunning form for Brentford this season after being moved to the centre-forward role – following the exit of Neal Maupay from Griffin Park. He has now netted 10 times in 14 Championship outings this season.
Two of those came in the win over QPR at Loftus Road, the first putting Brentford 1-0 up just before the half-hour mark. Bryan Mbuemo’s chipped cross found Watkins unmarked, who headed low underneath QPR goalkeeper Liam Kelly.

Grant Hall equalised for QPR before Nbuemo controversially won Brentford a penalty, dispatched by Said Benrahma. Watkins made sure of the win and took his tally to double figures in injury time, tapping home from close range.
Watkins has plenty of admirers in the Premier League, with The Sun claiming Sheffield United are looking to spend £15million to land the former Exeter City attacker. He has a contract at Griffin Park until the summer of 2023.
Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to Watkins’ display after scoring twice, sa the Whites continues to be frustrated by Patrick Bamford – who hsa failed to score in his last nine league outings. Leeds supporters are dreaming of a player like Watkins.
