Leeds United supporters are buzzing that Illan Meslier could be handed a first U-21 start for France next week.
L’Equipe report that Alban Lafont has been dropped from the squad following FC Nantes’ involvement in the Ligue 1 relegation play-offs. Meslier has been Leeds’ starting keeper for their first season back in the Premier League in 16 years.

And the French youngster has flourished in the role. The 21-year-old kept 11 clean sheets in 35 league appearances for Leeds, becoming the youngster keeper to keep ten shutouts in Premier League history.
France are on of he favourites to win the U-21 Euros, with Les Bleus bolstering an immense variety of talented players amongst their squad, such as RB Leipzig defenders Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate, Stade Rennais wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga and Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

Meslier has been a star for Leeds over the past 12 months, and supporters on social media are beaming at the thought of him representing France at U-21 level ahead of the U-21 Euros.
