Max Dean has put pen to paper on professional terms at Leeds United having turned 17 in February, with the Premier League side confirming his new deal on Friday morning – and many Leeds fans have responed on Twitter to the news.
Dean has enjoyed an excellent season for the club’s Under-23 side, as he continues to appear for the both the second string and the Under-18 outfit at times. He has played eight times in Premier League 2 for Leeds, scoring four goals.
The youngster has netted in wins over Palace, Middlesbrough, Reading and Norwich – while also getting a brace against Barrow’s senior side which resulted in a penalty-shootout defeat in the EFL Trophy. He is expected to keep adding to his tally.
Certainly, over the next season or two, Dean is going to make himself a regular for the 23’s going forward, given his incredible start and the fact that Joe Gelhardt is expected to be promoted sooner rather than later. Leeds posted on social media.
There is plenty of competition ahead of Dean, with Tyler Roberts, Rodrigo and Gelhardt likely to be preferred before Dean. Even Bobby Kamwa has started up front ahead of Dean with the 23’s but at such a young age, he is certainly ahead of the curve.
Leeds supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news that Dean has put pen to paper on his first pro contract at Elland Road – and many believe it is well deserved.
