Matuesz Bogusz starred during Leeds United Under-23’s 3-0 win over Watford on Monday afternoon at Vicarage Road – and Leeds fans were delight with his efforts on Twitter.
The 17-year-old made his debut for Leeds’ second string last month, appearing in the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest. He was given his second chance for the Whites and was heavily involved.
First teamers Izzy Brown, Jamie Shackleton and Aapo Halme were all involved, as were Jordan Stevens, Clarke Odour and Kum Temenuzhkov who have all played in the senior side.
Brown received the ball on the left flank after Halme picked an unmarked Bogusz out in the middle of the park. The Poland Under-19 international drove forward before playing it out wide to Brown.
The on-loan Chelsea flyer waltzed into the box from out wide before shooting through bodies to score. A Bogusz free-kick was then met by Dutch centre-back Struijk who headed home from close range.
Leeds further strengthened their lead at the top of the Professional Development League, especially when Kun made it three after a lovely ball from Brown found Jordan Stevens who set up the Bulgarian.
But Bogusz was the creative heart of Carlos Corberan’s side. Despite his tender age, he took the game by the scruff of the neck and is certainly showing plenty of talent – which delighted Leeds fans on Twitter.
