Marcelo Bielsa has told Yorkshire Evening Post’s live coverage of his Thursday press conference that Leeds United playmaker Izzy Brown has been suffering from an injury.
Brown, 22, has managed just one senior appearance for Leeds this season. The on-loan Chelsea midfielder was expected to miss the first half of the season as he recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Recovering before the end of the year, Brown returned to action with Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side. But he quickly suffered a niggle to his hamstring which prolonged his recovery.
He has since become an integral part of Leeds’ Under-23 side, helping them achieve a place in the Premier League Cup semi-final and run out winners of the Professional Development League North.

He has also warmed Bielsa’s bench. But the loss to Sheffield United and the win over Millwall, Brown was nowhere to be seen.
Now, Bielsa has confirmed he had an injury but is now fit to play on Saturday against Birmingham City.: “He has had a small injury. Now he’s recovered from this injury. Then he’s one of the options I have.”
Leeds fans reacted to the news that Brown has suffered another injury, which is the reason he has missed out against the Blades and Neil Harris’ Lions. Many fans have said he is a bad signing, while one Tweeted: “Just don’t think Bielsa likes him.”
