Marcelo Bielsa has won the hearts of Leeds United fans since joining the club, even though he failed to gain promotion with the Whites. Now, AS Roma are reportedly keen – and Leeds fans have discussed Bielsa’s future.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Roma are interested in the 63-year-old, who is reportedly in talks with the Whites over a new contract.

The Yorkshire Evening Post state that Bielsa signed a contract that will see him discuss with the Yorkshire club at the end of every season, over whether he wants to remain at Elland Road for another 12 months.

It is believed that talks are going well between Leeds and Bielsa, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Roma have shortlisted Bielsa, along with Chelsea’s Maurizio Sarri and Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini.

Roma need a manager as Claudio Ranieri’s short-term deal looks unlikely to be extended. Spanish side Celta Vigo have also been linked with a move for the ex-Argentina boss.

Bielsa is earning a whopping £58,000-a-week contract at Elland Road, but it remains to be seen if he will sign an extension and whether the wages will be similar to his current pay cheque.

Leeds fans reacted on Twitter to the news that Roma want their manager, and many are now concerned that the lure of the 2017-18 Champions League semi-finalists could prove hard to turn down.
