A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments made by Marcelo Bielsa concerning his future at Elland Road.
Bielsa has done an incredible job with the Whites. He succeeded where so many had failed before him in taking Leeds back to the Premier League. And he did it with an exhilarating brand of football.
Almost as remarkably, Bielsa’s men have put themselves in mid-table in the top flight without deviating from that style for one moment.
Leeds are not yet mathematically safe. But they look to be in a fantastic position to secure another year at English football’s top table.
And unsurprisingly, thoughts are already turning to what the future holds for Bielsa. As noted by Leeds Live, Andrea Radrizzani has suggested that he wants the Argentinian to stay.
The Whites boss gave a lengthy response when asked about Radrizzani’s stance in his press conference ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Southampton. And while he did not commit his future to the club, he seemed to suggest that he would want to stay if offered the chance.
“If the club needs an answer prior to the end of the season, I will respond in the anticipated manner,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live. “But I would like it to leave it clear that Leeds as a project surpasses me as a coach.
“Any coach would like to work at this club, given how it has been designed.”
Bielsa’s hint that he would feel like the privileged one if offered the chance to stay has caught many fans off-guard.
Many have expressed a belief that they did not realise that they could appreciate him more. He is certainly looking destined to go down as one of the club’s most popular figures of all-time.
It is clear that Bielsa would be signed to a long-term contract if the majority of fans had their way.
With that in mind, here is how some of the supporters have reacted to Bielsa’s suggestion that the Leeds project ‘surpasses’ him as a coach…
That man, whilst he has his very little flaws (no one is perfect) is the reason ALL us Leeds fans can count ourselves lucky. Not just as a coach but as a human being. I couldn’t love him and the way he looks upon life and his humbleness anymore if I tried

What a statement. Right there. The most humble genius you will ever meet.

What a response, and a beautiful way of saying, let’s wait for the end of the season just because it makes sense (he always does) without all the usual drama and hysterics that this ‘uncertainty’ usually attracts.
