Liam Cooper has been called-up once again to play for Scotland during this month’s international break, which takes place after Leeds United’s Friday night outing against Crystal Palace – and Leeds supporters have reacted on Twitter.

Cooper, 29, returned to action on Monday night after picking up a groin problem – but failed to prevent Leeds suffering a 4-1 defeat to Leicester City on Monday night. He had missed previous matches against Wolves and Aston Villa.

The English-born defender now has four caps and has been a crucial part of Scotland’s UEFA Nations League campaign. His groin problem, meanwhile, was not the first injury he has suffered this season – missing the first outing against Liverpool.

The left-footed centre-back has now been called up to the Scotland side for November’s international break – where they face Serbia on the 12th in a Euro 2020 play-off, before games against Slovakia and Israel in the UEFA Nations League.

Cooper’s absence has been felt by Leeds, with Diego Llorente yet to make his debut due to another muscle injury. Robin Koch has impressed, but Luke Ayling has had to play at centre-back this season – as has rookie Pascal Struijk.

Leeds supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news that the centre-back has been called-up to Steve Clarke’s Scotland side – and many are concerned over their defender’s fitness ahead of his country’s coming games.
