Leeds fans react as Kun Temenuzhkov linked with January exit

Leeds United could reportedly wave goodbye to teenage striker Kun Temenuzhkov before next Friday’s deadline after the Bulgaria Under-21 international was deemed ‘surplus to requirements’ – and Whites fans have reacted on Twitter.

Plenty of hype surrounded the striker when Leeds announced his signing in the summer of 2017 from Barcelona’s Under-18 side. He has since been a constant part of the club’s Under-23 side, competing with Ryan Edmondson for a place in the team.

Able to play out wide, in the 10 role or up front, Temenuzhkov was a favourite of Carlos Corberan during his first two seasons at Elland Road. But this season, it has been a different story as Edmondson remains first choice for the reserve team.

Temenuzkhov has featured for the club’s senior side, being one of the young players to play against Queens Park Rangers in the 2-1 FA Cup defeat under Marcelo Bielsa back in January 2019. He has failed to add to that sole appearance.

Patrick Bamford, Eddie Nketiah, Tyler Roberts and indeed Edmondson are all ahead of Temenuzhkov in the pecking order and with the player struggling to even get game time in the seconds, it is clear that he is no longer needed at Leeds.

Many Leeds fans have reacted to the Yorkshire Evening Post report that he could leave their club in the next seven days, and many feel that it could turn out to be a mistake.
