Leeds fans react as Jack Grealish comments on Elland Road pitch

Jack Grealish has blamed the Elland Road pitch for Leeds United’s defeat to Brighton on Saturday afternoon with the surface looking particularly poor as Marcelo Bielsa’s men lost 1-0 – and Leeds fans have responded.

The Whites suffered a third straight defeat, all of which they have failed to find the back of the net, as Neal Maupay’s first-half tap-in proved enough for the Seagulls and Graham Potter. Leeds struggled to create many chances.

It comes after two successive 3-0 defeats to Tottenham and then League Two side Crawley Town in the FA Cup. Bielsa is coming under increased scrutiny from pundits, but his position at Elland Road is completely untenable.

Indeed, Grealish took to Instagram while watching the match and pointed out the Elland Road conditions as a potential reason for Leeds failing to beat Brighton – uploading a six-word verdict on his story.

The feeling among Leeds supporters is one that is a stark contrast following wins over Burnley and West Brom before the defeat to Tottenham. However, they remain in 12th position in the Premier League, looking comfortable.
