Leeds fans react as Ian Poveda posts injury update on Instagram
Ian Poveda hobbled off the Thorp Arch pitch on Monday afternoon just moments after coming on at half-time during Leeds United Under-23’s 2-0 win over Sunderland – and Leeds fans have reacted to his update on Instagram.
Poveda, 20, has been in and out of the Leeds first team – normally coming on as a substitute for the senior side and remaining an important part of the Under-23 side. He has played 10 times in the Premier League, and six outings in Premier League 2.
Having come on at half-time against Sunderland – a game Leeds won thanks to goals from Tyler Roberts and Niall Huggins – Poveda was hobbling off moments later with what looked like an impact injury.
The former Manchester City star has since posted on his Instagram story ahead of the Everton game, delivering an encouraging four-word verdict to supporters. However, the picture he uploaded does see Poveda using crutches.

With Raphinha nursing a knock and Rodrigo picking up a longer injury in the win over Leicester, Poveda might have edged closer to a start. But Tyler Roberts came off after 30 minutes in the game and he could also be in line to feature.
Marcelo Bielsa suggested that both Raphinha – and Patrick Bamford – are likely to be fit for Wednesday night’s clash. Leeds fans reacted to the news that Poveda had given an update on his injury – but are concerned.
