Leeds fans react as Hernandez misses out on Player of the Month award yet again

Semi Ajayi of Rotherham United has been named as the Championship’s Player of the Month for March, as per the division’s official Twitter account.

Ajayi beat competition from Sheffield United’s Jack O’Connell, Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia and Pablo Hernandez of Leeds United to claim the crown.

And after Hernandez was not named in the EFL Team of the Season, it represents another snub for the Spaniard, who has been so crucial in keeping his side in the hunt for the automatic promotion spots.

Leeds supporters are predictably unhappy with the decision after a month in which the former Swansea midfielder netted five goals and was at the fulcrum of much of their side’s good work.

They took to Twitter to voice their frustration about Hernandez being overlooked again, ahead of this evening’s match against Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road.

We’ve put together the best of the reaction from a group of fans who are outraged by the decision but are keeping their eyes firmly on the prize of promotion – which is far, far bigger than any subjective monthly award.
