Phil Hay reports that Leeds could try to sign John Swift in the January window. The Reading midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season – and Whites fans have reacted on Twitter.
The Whites desperately need additions in the middle of the park. Another injury to Kalvin Phillips means the Whites are another body down in midfield, with Leeds already in need of a central player.
Swift, 26, is a player Marcelo Bielsa likes – with the Argentine speaking publicly of his admiration for the ex-Chelsea ace. In 21 Championship appearances, he has produced 17 goal involvements in that time.
But Swift is out of contract at the end of the season and Leeds could be interested in signing the midfielder. Indeed, the Sheffield Star recently reported that Leeds and Wolves wanted Swift.
Hay told his podcast: “The sort of option that could be done, in the sort of price bracket they would want to get into, with the sort of player Bielsa likes. He does like Swift, in the same way he likes Lewis O’Brien.”

Hay on Swift: What do Leeds fans think about Reading star?
What Swift has, that the others Leeds midfielders lack, is utter creativity. His ability not only to score goals, but to also create them on a regular basis – is something Mateusz Klich and Stuart Dallas struggle to do.
Phillips and Adam Forshaw sit deeper in midfield, while Rodrigo is more of a 10. Having Swift as a box-to-box midfielder, dogged, aggressive in defence but superb in the final third – Leeds will add a dimension.
Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to reports that Hay says the Whites are interested in signing Swift and could make a move next month – prompting many to back a potential deal.
