Hadi Sacko will have endeared himself to Leeds United fans on Twitter after joking about his assist during loan side Ankaragucu’s 2-2 draw with Rizespor – captioning the post “Hadi squared it today”.
The 25-year-old spent two seasons at Leeds before leaving the club on loan last summer, firstly joining Spanish side Las Palmas and then Turkish top-tier club Ankaragucu.
Just three goals and four assists in 60 outings for Leeds saw fans constantly criticise the winger for being greedy, and not squaring the ball. It has earned him the nickname “square it Hadi”.
He provided an excellent cross after an electrifying burn of pace against Rizespor, giving Ilhan Parlak a tap in from six yards out. Sacko posted a cheeky reminder to Leeds fans about his nickname.
The Yorkshire Evening Post claim that Leeds spent a whopping £1.5million to land Sacko from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2017, after a season-long loan during Garry Monk’s season in charge.
But under Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom he struggled. Marcelo Bielsa ostracised him in the summer, but perhaps surprisingly, Leeds fans replied to his Tweets by urging him to return to Elland Road this summer.
